Sports Camp, Inc. d/b/a Sports CLUB is a 501 (c)(3) organization that provides children a safe and enriching after-school, summer camp and youth sports programs since 1999. Sports CLUB’s youth sports program, K6 Sports, began in 2008 with a small 19 player flag football league. Current leagues include: basketball, cheerleading, football, volleyball and a youth development program called Kinder-Sport. K6 Sports has grown exponentially to 300-400 children playing in K6 programs each Saturday. The methodology and the people who operate K6 Sports set it apart from other youth programs. Unlike most recreational programs which are operated by volunteer coaches and parents, K6 Sports teams are coached by youth professionals that are employed by Sports CLUB.   All coaches work under a youth sports director and coach in planned progressions. The Skill, Drill, Compete philosophy creates a formula for success. Rules and game formats are adjusted to the age and ability of the players to meet the needs of the highly skilled athlete and the novice. In addition to receiving unprecedented instruction in conditioning and skills, coaching role models like Matt Gilbert aid to enhance a child’s social, moral and emotional development.

The 2015 Sports CLUB K6 Spring Flag Football season was approaching and Poinciana Elementary after-school site director Matt Gilbert noticed a new group of boys in the program who really liked playing flag football. Many of the boys attend the after-school program on a grant provided by The Martin Foundation. The Martin Foundation’s grant has allowed Sports CLUB to not only cover tuition for 25 children, but also to provide safe transportation from the after-school program. When Gilbert realized that most of the children had little or no experience playing youth sports due to funding and transportation, he brought it to the attention of the Sports CLUB administrators. It was quickly decided that Sports CLUB would also provide scholarships for these students to play in the upcoming K6 Spring Football League. In order to make this work, Gilbert had to make the commitment to pick the children up and drop them off each Saturday morning with the Sports CLUB van. This is just one example of the importance Sports CLUB puts on providing opportunities to all children to gain enriching experiences, regardless of their ability to pay.

Each year Sports CLUB provides an average of $15,000 in financial aid to children in kindergarten through sixth grade to participate in youth sports. Additionally, Sports CLUB provides over $300,000 in financial aid and discounted fees for after-school/summer camp programs each year. Due to the increased popularity and quality of the after-school and K6 Sports Programs, there is a greater than ever demand for Sports CLUB to increase our donor base to assist families in need. Please help get a child to the land of opportunity in youth programs.
