Sports CLUB, a division of Sports Camp, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been in operation since 1999. The mission of Sports CLUB is to provide children a safe and enriching after-school, summer camp and youth sports environment through educational, physical and creative activities.

 

After school activities occur in 45 minute rotations and combine homework help, Literature Club, FCAT tutoring assistance, arts and crafts and a wide variety of physical activities daily from 2:45-6:30 p.m. Sports CLUB maintains an inventory of top quality equipment, supplies and games at all sites to go along with the wide variety of activities.

 

Current sites include: Bonita Recreation Center, Community School of Naples, Estates ElementaryOsceola Elementary, Pelican Marsh Elementary, Poinciana Elementary, Royal Palm Elementary, Sabal Palm Elementary, Sports CLUB Center, and Vineyards Elementary.

 

Current sites with busing to the Sports CLUB Center include: Laurel Oak Elementary, Mason Classical AcademyNaples Park Elementary, Seagate Elementary, and Veterans Memorial Elementary.

 

Sports CLUB is committed to service families and is open every weekday during the entire year except New Year’s, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. There are many days where Sports CLUB is the only program in the county open to help families who need childcare.

 

Sports CLUB provides services for over 1000 families weekly in its after-school programs regardless of race, ethnicity or gender. Approximately 32 percent of all families served are economically needy and are receiving financial aid through the Early Learning Coalition or Sports CLUB Scholarship Fund. While we reach out to serve all of our community, many of the after-school programs serviced by Sports CLUB are in the North Naples area where small pockets of deprived students lose the opportunity for extra assistance due to the school they attend. Sports CLUB is dedicated to serving all children including these groups of needy families. Additionally, Sports CLUB operates other child-centered activities for hundreds of children also offering both financial assistance and family support in these programs so that children have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular enrichment activities such as youth sports leagues, dance and gymnastics. These activities offer opportunities to children in the evenings and on the weekends.

 

Sports CLUB, like many non-profit agencies is dedicated to servicing a variety of families from all social and economic sectors. However, simply being dedicated to a mission does not ensure the best possible results. Sports CLUB believes that the greatest way to maximize physical, mental, social and emotional student development of the child is to make a commitment to hire, train and retain the finest people to work with the children and families. Not only does Sports CLUB have a mission to serve but it also has the right people in place who are trained within a purposeful philosophy to execute the mission of the organization. Sports CLUB is committed to using on-going staff development and low staff to student ratios. The staff is personally trained by Sports CLUB administrators Lane Beatty and Bill Carufe who are former teachers and have a combined 40+ years of teaching experience. Every site director has a Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) director’s credential. This ensures every child has high quality role models and leaders to help give them the ultimate opportunity to develop as a healthy, balanced individual who will contribute to society as a productive citizen.
