K6 Basketball offers basketball in an academy-like setting supplemented by relevant quality game experiences. Using the motto of skill, drill, compete, our coaches will teach the fundamentals in a progressive manner followed by drills that teach offensive and defensive concepts. Each child can learn many techniques needed to be a successful basketball player without having to be on a travel team. In addition, our program is adjusted to the age and ability of the players to ensure that all players will be challenged. K6 spring basketball will introduce to players important half court concepts such as, individual drives, pass and cut, picks, back door cuts and out of bounds situations. Additionally, there will be a heavy emphasis on shooting fundamentals and progressions. The league is limited to 40 players (20 players per age group). The format will consist of drill work for the first 30-minutes. Teams for the night will be picked, and then round robin games will be played for the remainder of the evening. New teams will get picked each night. Players receive a point for showing up and a point for each time their team wins. At the end of the season, the players who have accumulated the most points will get awards. |
